How SwapSlot works
Swapping a UK driving test is legal, free, and surprisingly fast — once you know how. Here is the full flow, end to end.
01.List your test
Tell us where, when, and what type your test is. We check DVSA eligibility — the 10-working-day rule, your test type, and that you have changes remaining — before letting you list. Takes about 60 seconds. Free.
02.We match you with a compatible learner
We look for someone whose test fits your preferences and whose preferences fit yours. The match must satisfy DVSA rules for both of you — including the test type compatibility matrix and (from 9 June 2026) the 3-nearest-centres rule.
03.Share your booking reference — one of you calls DVSA
Once you both confirm the match, you exchange only your booking reference numbers. One of you dials 0300 200 1122 (option 1), Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm. DVSA puts the caller on hold and calls the other learner on the phone number recorded on their booking.
04.Swap confirmed — note your new test details
DVSA does not send a confirmation email after a swap. Write down the new test centre, date, and time on the call. Your next DVSA reminder email will show the updated details.
